AREA OF PRODUCTION: province of Verona, in the area of the morainic east coast of Lake Garda (Veneto).
GRAPES: Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, Negrara, Merlot
ALCOHOL: 11.5% vol.
COLOR: intense ruby red, with a tendency to cherry red and garnet with aging.
BOUQUET: its peculiarity is the freshness of the elegant and fruity, characteristic and fragrant smell, in which we perceive notes of strawberry, raspberry, cherry and currant, with light notes of spices such as cloves, cinnamon and black pepper.
TASTE: In the mouth the fruity taste is dry, slightly bitter, but harmonious and balanced, with notes reminiscent of red fruits and berries. Long, dry and spicy aftertaste.
FOOD PAIRINGS: This wine is very interesting and very versatile: pasta dishes (served with any type of sauce), tortellini, ravioli, lasagna, risotto and vegetable soups. Among the main dishes, Bardolino lends itself very well to accompany grilled meats, grilled or boiled, with stews, mushrooms and polenta. Even with fish this wine offers great combinations. Another classic combination is with chips and aged cheeses and aromatic herbs. In international cuisine, Bardolino goes well with couscous made with meat and vegetables.
